Hike Overview
Trailhead Directions
Nature Trail is located 3 miles from the entrance and Visitor Center of Kodachrome State Park.
The trailhead has information signs, restrooms, and showers. Note that showers require a small fee for non-campers, but may be the best showers of any state park we’ve been to.
Hike Details
From the trailhead follow the hardpack trail as it meanders around a slickrock hill. Signs direct traffic in a counterclockwise direction along the path although the trail can be taken either way.
Watch for the inspirational and informational signs along the path. Several signs are posted in front of different plants describing the plant and its traditional uses.
Around the middle of the trail stands a spire. It’s possible to get up close to this one without having to hike too far. If you look towards the campground you’ll see another spire on the ridge. This spire may be one of the most photographed in the park….
Why is this hike rated accessible?
The trail is hardpack making it accessible to strollers and wheelchairs. Strollers with very small, narrow wheels may need a good push.
